Raelene Fuller

My name is Raelene Fuller. Painting has been on my ‘Must Do One Day’ list, so on day three of retirement I joined the Port Lincoln Art Group. Here I found a group of skilled artists who generously inspire, guide and encourage newcomers like me. Many of these artists I now consider my good friends.

I thought I would be predominantly a watercolourist but was soon introduced to acrylic painting techniques. This medium seemed to suit my emerging style and choice of subjects. I find myself absorbed in the complexity and beauty of Australian native flora – bold but graceful, perfect in form and detail. I now see every branch, leaf, flower, shadow and reflection of light as a potential painting challenge.

Then I fell in love with lino printing. Carving by hand into the lino is a time of serene concentration as I glide each chisel stroke to shape my design. Hand painting each print in a series ensures that each piece is unique.

The pieces I have selected to display here are a range of my work over the past four years. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work and I hope you find something that pleases your eye.
